BIPC Resolution adopted

The delegates of the first Barents Indigenous Peoples' Congress, held in Kirkenes on February 4, 2010, agreed on a draft resolution. The draft was distributed to the indigenous peoples' organizations (Yasavey, OOSMO, Kola Saami Association, SUPS MO, Vepsian Culture Society) in the Russian side, and to the Saami Parliamentary Council, for comments.
On June 15, 2010, the WGIP met in Kirkenes and adopted the resolution, stating that the three indigenous peoples of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region want proper representation in the formal structure of the Barents Cooperation.
